Thank you to volunteers for Sept 2018

We are so thankful for those of you that shared it with us at our National Public Lands Day Event on Sat. Sept 29th! More than 40 dedicated volunteers showed up to help us with this massive effort to clean up the trash pictured below!
Volunteers arrived on site about 9 am and by 11:30 am we had already filled the 32 cubic yard rolloff dumpster rented by BLM.  Participants also had to drag out all the appliances for a separate disposal pile- over 15 in all!  After our work day we got to enjoy a pizza lunch donated by Whoa Nellie Deli and have raffle prizes courtesy of Patagonia.
This cleanup was a huge success and we learned there is much more still there for us to tackle next season.  Volunteers are so essential to our public lands and especially to places like the Bodie Hills. Thank you again to all of our participants.
A big thanks to you all and our partners at BLM and Friends of the Inyo to clean-up trash dumps at the south end of the Bodie Hills, while enjoying views of Mono Lake and the Sierra.   Our friends at Walker Basin Conservancy also joined in on the fun!
If you have pictures to share from the event please email me.
