Sat Sept 27, 2014: National Public Lands Day Stewardship Project

Volunteers will remove about a half-mile of barbed wire fence from a sage ground lek (strutting ground). The group will also remove vegetation from around historic building and structures to remove hazardous fuels, as well as conduct a general site clean-up.

Participants should bring sturdy shoes/boots, pants, long sleeves, gloves, a hat and sunscreen. BLM and the State Park will provide all necessary tools.

All volunteers will have free entry into the State Park. The site managers will provide a BBQ lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks to the volunteers. Those interested are welcome to attend a free tour of Bodie State Historic Park at 1:30 p.m.

Please RSVP if you are planning to come volunteer.
